Reinforcing Security of Jains Eiffel Garden
Dear All,
It has come to our attention that some caretakers of elderly people living alone in our premises have not been in the best of their behaviour. Also we see heavy churn of caretakers for a specific apartment. Some of these caretakers off late are seemingly picked off the street and do not have a professional backing. We have reached out the next of kin in specific cases and they have expressed their inability to intervene with the informed choices of their elders.
For instance, a young lady (a caretaker working at one of the apartments) was creating ruckus in front of our gates at midnight yesterday. She was apparently very drunk and was demanding entry to the premises. She was not allowed entry. There was report of a suspicious person accompanying her.
Another situation for example is when the elderly was sleeping in the night, the caretaker left the flat door open, left the premises presumably for having dinner (or some such excuse) and came back at odd times in the night. All the while, the elderly is without the attendant and their flat door is wide open in the night. They were probably not aware that the caretaker had left and returned in the middle of the night.
All of the above create a challenge for the ongoing safety and security for our residents.
We are unable to solve the issue through MyGate because elderly people are unable to provide authorization for entry due to their age related disabilities, medical conditions or inability to use a mobile phone. Our security has provided approval in MyGate on behalf of such residents till date. This will stop from 01-August-2023. The following new process will be in place.
Each flat requiring caretaker services will need to apply for entry of caretakers selected by them on a prescribed form. Two caretakers will be allowed per flat (to operate in shifts). The form will require
- the name of the caretaker,
- Age and gender
- the address of the caretaker,
- a passport size photograph,
- Aadhar card copy, and
- A caretaker experience certificate (this is to avoid people being picked off the road)
Association will approve entry of the caretaker for a period of one month after which the approval automatically expires. On written request before the expiry of the approval, the approval can be extended for a period of one month.
The facility supervisor will visit each flat where caretakers are currently employed and distribute the form starting Monday (24-July-2023). The filled forms must be submitted before 30-July-2023.
Without this approval, security will not allow anybody requiring access as a caretaker. No exceptions will be allowed. As said earlier, we plan to bring this process with effect from 01-August-2023.
In any case no service provider will be allowed entry into the premises if they are found suspicious of under the influence of alcohol or similar substances. This is irrespective of them having prior approval.
Regards
Secretary - JEGFOWA
